Zaynn eventually became a paladin and a lawful mercenary. He is the owner of “Five Stars Apple Cider”.

Appearance and Personality

Zaynn is a physically imposing man in his early 40s, sporting black with visibly graying facial hair, and a bald head. He stands at an average-tall human height of 182,5 cm (6'0" ft). His skin, kissed by sun and wind, bears a light tan. His small brown eyes, sharp and watchful, resemble those of a Redridge condor. Thin, arched eyebrows frame his gaze. His head is cleanly shaved, revealing a smooth scalp. His lips are slightly pinkish and plump, and his face resembles a shield coated in leather.

Zaynn is a man of fiery purpose and unshakable resolve, often seen with the weight of his righteous anger in his eyes. His faith in the divine is intertwined with a deep sense of personal retribution, and every act he commits, every oath he swears, is done with the belief that he is an instrument of divine wrath. His soul burns with the need to avenge wrongs, whether they be personal slights or broader injustices in the world. His motivations are often seen as inflexible—he cares not for mercy or forgiveness, only for the restoration of balance through the execution of vengeance.

In his mind, vengeance is not just a personal crusade but a divine calling. He does not hesitate to pass judgment on those he believes have erred or betrayed the sacred tenets of the Light. Even allies, if they stray too far from the path, may find themselves facing Zaynn’s wrath. To him, there are no half-measures—punishment must be swift, absolute, and irreversible. His sense of justice is a dark mirror, reflecting his belief that only through vengeance can order be restored and evil eradicated.

Story

Early Life

Sir Zaynn was born in the year 576 K.C. His father, a well-respected trader also descendant of a noble family, instilled in him the values of honor, discipline, and chivalry from a very young age. Dreaming of becoming a knight ever since his childhood, Zaynn became a squire in his early teens to a knight named Sir Cyrus. Zaynn followed him everywhere, learning the ways of swordsmanship, strategy, and duty. Under Sir Cyrus's tutelage, Zaynn earned his knighthood in his mid 20s. Although now a knight in his own right, Zaynn always considered Sir Cyrus to be his truest mentor and guide. He would soon be assigned to serve as one of his lord's royal guards.

Some time after the Second War, Zaynn was gifted a small piece of land by his lord in recognition of his services over the years. The area was blessed with apple trees, and Zaynn made use of the blessing to produce apple cider, generating income for his household.

Troubling Times

In the year 600 K.C., the lord whom Zaynn had served for many years died. During this time, internal strife erupted due to a dispute over the legitimacy of the heir within the noble house he served. Since Zaynn supported the losing side, he was forced into exile in foreign lands, losing his title. Zaynn then traveled south and lived at Northshire Abbey for some time. It was here that he learned to wield the power of the Holy Light, becoming a Paladin in the process. With his newly gained ability, he served the people by joining a band of mercenary based in Redridge.

Settling Down

During his time in Redridge, Zaynn frequently visited a local tavern and met a woman named Clair Delun, who worked there as a barmaid. In the year 606 K.C., after six months of courtship, Zaynn and Clair became betrothed, and they were married soon after. They lived in Lakeshire, where they lived peacefully for some time, building a life together.

Zaynn continued to serve with the Redridge mercenaries, operating mostly in the Eastern Kingdoms. Most of the time, he serves as a supporting unit, capable of fighting in close-quarters combat and healing his team. At some point before the Third War, he returned to his home and successfully reclaimed his small land once given to him by his old lord. After moving back to his old home, his apple cider business resumed and is now regularly distributed to taverns. After rebuilding his land and his business, he soon joined the other paladins to fight the scourge in the northern regions.

Birth of Vengeance

While traveling through the Lordaeron region to assist with the fight against the Scourge, Zaynn encountered a Scourge-controlled village. While he was fighting the Scourge, he came face-to-face with an undead. Upon closer inspection, Zaynn realized that the undead was none other than Jon Agamand, his former squire, who had been turned into an abomination by the Scourge.

Jon had been a promising young squire under Zaynn’s tutelage, filled with ambition and dreams of becoming a knight, just as Zaynn had once been. Their bond had been strong, and Zaynn had always seen Jon as a brother-in-arms. The realization that Jon had fallen to the Scourge shattered Zaynn’s heart.

Zaynn was forced to battle Jon, who had no memory of their past and fought only to destroy. In the end, Zaynn had no choice but to strike down his former squire, now an undead minion of the Scourge. The loss of Jon, someone Zaynn had once mentored and cared for, filled him with a devastating mix of sorrow and rage.

This encounter changed Zaynn forever. The ideals of justice and nobility he had once followed felt hollow in the face of such unimaginable loss. His grief turned to fury, and his quest for vengeance became all-consuming. He no longer fought simply for honor or chivalry but to rid the world of the Scourge at any cost. The death of Jon was the catalyst that transformed him into Zaynn the Vengeful.
