The Bonechewer clan is an orcish clan known for ornamenting themselves with bones and other organs in battle as well as for their cannibalistic nature, inspiring fear and terror in all who behold them in battle. Well respected by the rest of the Horde, the ravaging, cannibalistic warriors of the Bonechewer clan remained in Draenor when the orcs first crossed the Dark Portal, and were spared the defeat that ended the Second War.

History

When Ner'zhul of the Shadowmoon clan was preparing the Horde of Draenor to reopen the Dark Portal, the Bonechewers were attacked by the Shadowmoon, because one of their captains possessed the Skull of Gul'dan as a trophy. Their camp was obliterated and the skull reclaimed.<ref>The Skull of Gul'dan (WC2 Orc)</ref> Shortly afterwards, Tagar Spinebreaker decided to attempt a foray into Azeroth alongside Fenris the Hunter of the Thunderlord clan, desiring to journey to Azeroth and have their clans triumph where Doomhammer had failed. This was not a vision that was shared by Ner'zhul, who ordered that their clans be culled as an example to ensure that none would dare to interfere with his dark schemes.<ref>Thunderlord and Bonechewer (WC2 Orc)</ref>

Despite the destruction wrought upon the clan, orc forces with Bonechewer colors were seen assisting the Horde during the retrieval of the Jeweled Scepter of Sargeras.<ref>The Tomb of Sargeras (WC2x Orc)</ref> The Bonechewers were also part of the Horde of Draenor's forces during the Alliance Expedition's later foray into Draenor, clashing with them after the expedition fortified their position at Vanguard on the Hellfire Peninsula where the Dark Portal is located.<ref>Upon the Shadowed Seas (WC2 Human)</ref> Bonechewer forces were additionally present during the raid on Fortress Auchindoun,<ref>The Fall of Auchindoun (WC2 Human)</ref> the mission to Deathwing's Lair,<ref>Deathwing (WC2 Human)</ref> the raid on Fortress Shadowmoon<ref>The Heart of Evil (WC2 Human)</ref> and the siege of Vanguard.<ref>Siege of Vanguard (WC2 Human)</ref> When the Laughing Skull clan made a pact with the Alliance in exchange for the Book of Medivh, a Bonechewer stronghold in the passes of the Blade's Edge Mountains was destroyed, ensuring that the Laughing Skull could gain dominance over the northern clans of Draenor.<ref>Dance of the Laughing Skull (WC2 Human)</ref> After Ner'zhul and his loyal Shadowmoon clan passed through the largest of the newly created portals,<ref>The Invasion of Draenor</ref> the Bonechewers descended upon the Alliance Expedition forces at the Dark Portal as massive volcanic eruptions began to break Draenor's continents apart.<ref>The Bitter Taste of Victory (WC2 Human)</ref> Unlike the Warsong, Bleeding Hollow and Shattered Hand clans, the Bonechewers were stranded on Draenor when the Portal closed.
