Farstriders

The Farstriders, also known as the Elven Ranger Corps, are a high elven organization that encompasses the elven rangers of Quel'Thalas, masters of marksmanship and scouting. It was charged with the defense of Quel'Thalas and led by the Ranger-General of Silvermoon, leader of the high elves' military forces, and ventured beyond their borders to guard their lands and honor.<ref>Feathered Letter</ref> During the Third War, this organization was led by Sylvanas Windrunner. The Elven Ranger Corps met Arthas Menethil at the borders of Quel'Thalas and fought the traitorous prince every step of the way, through both the Inner and Outer Elfgates, back towards the high elven capital.

Though the Farstriders were a proud group of rangers, many of them were lost with the downfall of their homeland. Their legacy continues to live on through the new generation of rangers trained under the Silvermoon Remnant.<ref>Ranger Rubinah Sunsworn#Quotes</ref> Under the Remnant, the Farstriders were at first led by Damilara Sunsorrow, though she was replaced as Ranger-General by Halduron Brightwing following the establishment of the Regency Council.
