Dear Farad,

We made a mistake. You need to stop distributing the golems. Our plan will not work.

I know you are still angry at me for what I did to you. It was an accident, I swear! But you have to listen, please. I cannot stop the golems from killing people. The spell does not work! Oh, how stupid I was.

Please, Farad, stop this nonsense with the Stonemasons Guild and come back. We will figure out how to fix them together, like the old times. Please.

I... I should explain. Yes, I was lying to you all this time. I made the golems with the help of Farad and some goblin machinery. We lived here, in Moonbrook, many years ago.

We just wanted to escape this damned place. So we made the Harvest Golems to help the farmers and also to get their money. But we knew it was too expensive for an average farmer to buy one. So we were selling them for a low, low price. We were losing a lot of money on it.

You probably already know where it is going. I'm not proud of this part. There was a catch. When everyone's fields were protected by golems, we would activate their true nature.

They would become murderous machines. We would blame it on some vile warlock or anyone else. It didn't matter. The only important thing was that we would be sole ones who could fix them... for a very high price.

At least, that was the idea. In my greed, I activated the murderous killswitch when Farad was working with some golems in a workshop. I wanted him to die so that all the money would go to me.

I learned later that he survived and merely was blinded. He hated me for it. But regardless, I saw the destruction I caused, I wanted to make the golems docile again... but our spell didn't work.

Some mistakes were made during construction, or just a lack of skill, I will never know. I couldn't fix them. Westfall became a wasteland. Then came the Defias with Farad on their side.

You know the rest of the story. You may judge me, think of me a monster. The truth is... you are probably right. I was a monster. But I did everything I could to fix it. By the Light, I can only hope that it is enough.
