Lor'themar Theron is the last known living member of House Theron and a current member of the Regency Council of Alah'Thalas.

Biography

Lor'themar was raised by his uncle Vanthalir'il, who acted as both guardian and mentor.<ref name="House of Theron" />

Third War

Following Quel'Thalas' secession from the Alliance, Lor'themar had become a commander of the Rangers — specifically, tasked with watching over the Sunwell and safeguarding those who, in turn, would watch over all of Quel'Thalas. During this time, Lor'themar was approached by Dar'Khan Drathir, a disillusioned face from the past who craved the recognition he felt he had never received.

Dar'Khan used his friendship with Lor'themar to gain intimate knowledge of Quel'Thalas' defenses, ostensibly to bolster them after the Hordes invasion during the Second War, and informed the death knight and scion of Lordaeron, Prince Arthas - to whom Dar'Khan had sold his loyalty to - of how to bypass them. Only too late did he discover Dar'Khan's duplicity. Though he desperately tried to reach the Sunwell in time, he discovered that Dar'Khan had betrayed all of Quel'Thalas by aiding the Scourge. When he finally reached the Sunwell, he found that it had exploded after Dar'Khan bound it and something went wrong, leaving a crater in its place.<ref name="Sunwell Trilogy">The Sunwell Trilogy</ref>

The Sunwell

After the Third War, the traitor Dar'Khan Drathir pursued Anveena Teague, the current avatar of the Sunwell, into Quel'Thalas. Leading a group of elven rangers and employing guerilla tactics against the Scourge forces, Lor'themar, along with Halduron Brightwing, sought to relieve his ravaged and shattered homeland from the Scourge's grasp. After a skirmish, Lor'themar ordered his fallen comrades to be burned, as a precaution against the Scourge's necromancy. Lor'themar was alerted to Dar'Khan's presence in Quel'Thalas, and in a conversation with Halduron, explained his history with Quel'Thalas' greatest traitor.

Following Dar'Khan's betrayal, Lor'themar had fought desperately to protect the sight of the Sunwell; and though he survived the onslaught of the Scourge, he personally observed the annihilated sight of the once glorious font of power. That day, he resolved to protect the remains of Quel'Thalas from being further tainted by the Scourge, and especially by Dar'Khan. Lor'themar rallied his rangers, and they left to destroy their kingdom's greatest betrayer.

Lor'themar observed Dar'Khan speaking with Anveena. He arranged an ambush, and his forces encircled Dar'Khan; however, the great traitor summoned the skeletons of fallen high elves to protect himself. Lor'themar and his rangers were overpowered, and forced to retreat. During the march back to safety, Lor'themar was shocked to hear a voice he identified as belonging to his former ranger-general, Sylvanas Windrunner. Lor'themar approached Kalecgos and his companions, suggesting the outsiders drop their weapons and surrender to him. Lor'themar offered them but one chance to live — to inform him of Sylvanas' location. Kalecgos revealed Anveena's current predicament to Lor'themar, and that Dar'Khan was as much their enemy as he is his.

Though Lor'themar was apprehensive about trusting the word of a half-blood, Kalecgos stated that he is no such thing — but in fact, a blue dragon, albeit currently without the ability to transform. Lor'themar and Halduron were amused by such an unlikely story, and Lor'themar mockingly noted that they might actually believe him, could prove it. At that point, Tyrigosa revealed her dragon form to the shocked elves. Theron knelt to apologize for his disrespect.

Lor'themar conversed with his new companions and revealed to them the history behind Sylvanas Windrunner's demise. Unsure whether the banshee would be friend or foe, they at least acknowledged that she would forever be an enemy of Dar'Khan. The group traveled to the Grove of the Sunwell, and Kalecgos revealed that Anveena was, in fact, the mortal avatar of the Sunwell itself. Lor'themar split with the group and joined with Halduron and company while Kalecgos dealt with Dar'Khan. Lor'themar took to the field once more to attack the traitor, but his hated foe chided him for his consistent failures and turned his attention to Kalecgos. Anveena herself was able to awaken to her true power and annihilate Dar'Khan with the wrath of the Sunwell.

In the wake of Dar'Khan's defeat and the revelations surrounding Anveena by Korialstrasz, Lor'themar placed her under the protection of the elves, her true identity to be kept a closely guarded secret.<ref name="Sunwell Trilogy" />

Mysteries of Azeroth

Lor'themar, as well as Halduron, later joined the greater Silvermoon Remnant as the high elves began to resettle the region of the Thalassian Highlands. Lor'themar, as a prominent surviving noble, was granted a place as part of the new Regency Council when Vereesa Windrunner was deposed by the remaining nobility as Speaker for the Remnant. However, Lor'themar remained a supporter of Vereesa.

Lor'themar's uncle and guardian, Vanthalir'il, was found to have perished upon the Highlands and returned from beyond the grave. His uncle's signet was returned to him to signify that he had been returned to his rest.<ref name="House of Theron" />
