Survival
Survival is a secondary professions in Turtle WoW which enables players to create a number of tools to aid them in overcoming obstacles and taming the wilderness.
Overview
- Survivalists practice outdoor skills that aid them in surviving the dangerous wilds of Azeroth. With the proper materials, they can create shelter and heat sources to survive the untamed wilderness.
- Survival is a secondary profession - anyone can train as a survivalist, no matter how many other professions they've devoted themselves to.
- Torches and tents can be created almost anywhere, as long as you have the appropriate ingredients - unlit torches (for torches) and linen cloth, simple wood and some sturdy rope (for tents).
Uses
The primary highlight of the Survival skill is the Traveler's Tent, which provides all players increased rested experience at a higher rate than an inn. Rested experience remains at the standard cap of [current level XP needed to level] x 1.5.
Survivalists also benefit from the gardening feature, allowing them to grow their own food that can provide them with various stat increases that can be paired with bonuses provided from food created with Cooking. Gardening is unlocked by completing the quest You Reap What You Sow, which is available from Mortimer Stansfield outside Stormwind City in Elwynn Forest and Kern Mosshoof in Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore.

To begin your survivalist career, seek out Sir S. J. Erlgadin at Nesingwary's Camp in northern Stranglethorn Vale, who will offer the quest Night's Exploration. The quest has a level five minimum requirement and requires obtaining a Wooden Club, a Sturdy Rope from Jaquilina Dramet at Nesingwary's Camp and Cheap Goblin's Oil from Mazk Snipeshot in Booty Bay. Once you've acquired the Survival skill, you can begin making Dim Torches immediately and your potential skill level will be 75.
Training locations
Survival is not trained traditionally like with other professions. Instead, one must visit Rufus Hardwick at Nesingwary's Camp in Stranglethorn Vale in order to purchase recipes, and Journeyman Survival is automatically learned upon reaching skill level 55.
The only recipe not sold by Rufus Hardwick is Outline: Simple Wooden Planter, which is instead sold by gardening trainers outside Stormwind City in Elwynn Forest and in Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore.
Gardening can only be done in gardening zones located outside Stormwind City in Elwynn Forest and in Bloodhoof Village in Mulgore.
