Kilrogg Deadeye is the chieftain of the Bleeding Hollow clan. Leading his clan in both the First and Second Wars, Kilrogg was one of the older and more cunning orc chieftains.

Background

First War

As an older chieftain, Kilrogg Deadeye had become more unwilling to throw lives away in combat. In orcish politics older orcs become more pragmatic, which is often mistaken for cowardice by the younger generation. Prior to the sacking of Stormwind, Kilrogg had killed three of his sons and two grandsons already who thought they could rule the clan better.<ref>The Last Guardian, pg. 221</ref>

At the start of the First War, the Bleeding Hollow clan participated in the first attack on Stormwind Keep, along with the Twilight's Hammer clan led by Cho'gall. This first attack was an unmitigated disaster for the orcs, and Deadeye loudly proclaimed that the attack had failed due to Cho'gall's incompetence. A rift soon grew that threatened to rip the Horde apart before it had even begun its conquest of Azeroth, as the orcs quickly polarized into factions that supported either chieftain. Gul'dan quickly stepped in to quell the problem, installing Blackhand as Warchief of the Horde to restore order to the Horde.<ref>Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness manual, The History of Orcish Ascension, The Mastery of Forces - Medivh and Blackhand</ref>

Second War and aftermath

Kilrogg fought under Blackhand, and then later under Orgrim Doomhammer. During the war, his clan was stationed throughout Khaz Modan, where it controlled the Horde's vital mining and oil refining operations.<ref>Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness manual, Clans of the Horde, Bleeding Hollow Clan</ref> After the tide of the Second War turned and the Horde was defeated, Kilrogg managed to lead his clan back through the rift of the Dark Portal and into Draenor. There he was hailed as a hero, and was taken before Ner'zhul. After recounting the events of the Second War to the old shaman, Kilrogg, along with Grommash Hellscream and Kargath Bladefist, led the charge back into Azeroth to steal items of power needed to aid Ner'zhul in his scheme to retrieve certain artifacts from Azeroth as to open rifts into other worlds and take the Orcish Hordes to great victories beyond the Dark Portal.<ref>Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal game manual, The Aftermath of the Second War</ref>

When Ner'zhul used the items to open more portals, Hellscream and Deadeye realized Ner'zhul's mad plans would doom their entire race. They abandoned Ner'zhul and rallied as many orcs as they could find, driving them through the Dark Portal to the questionable safety of Azeroth just before Draenor was destroyed.<ref name="The Invasion of Draenor">The Invasion of Draenor</ref> Their clans passed through just before Archmage Khadgar closed it completely. Hellscream and Deadeye hacked their way through the human ranks in a desperate bid for freedom, the Dark Portal exploding behind them. For them, and the remaining orcs on Azeroth, there would be no going back.<ref name="The Invasion of Draenor" /><ref>Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos game manual, Orcish History, Ner'zhul and the Shadow Clans</ref> Though Grom Hellscream and his Warsong clan managed to evade capture, Deadeye and his Bleeding Hollow clan were rounded up and placed in the internment camps in Lordaeron.<ref>Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos game manual, Orcish History, Day of the Dragon</ref><ref>The Battle of Grim Batol</ref> The captive clans, including the Bleeding Hollow, were eventually freed by Thrall, son of Durotan. Supported by many of the veteran chieftains, presumably including Kilrogg, Thrall ultimately succeeded in revitalizing the Horde and giving his people a new spiritual identity.<ref name="ThrallsTale">Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Game Manual, Orcish History, Thrall's Tale</ref><ref>The New Horde</ref> Kilrogg would go on to serve as an advisor to the young warchief,<ref name="A Unknown Letter" /> and members of his clan would later occupy the outpost of Grom'gol Base Camp in the Stranglethorn Vale.<ref>A Bleeding Hollow banner can be found next to Far Seer Mok'thardin.</ref>

Mysteries of Azeroth

On Thrall's orders,<ref name="A Unknown Letter" /> Kilrogg led his clan to the island of Balor, where the Bleeding Hollow established the outpost of Stormbreaker Point from which to hunt the Shadow Council and the remains of the Stormreaver clan that had begun to inhabit the ruins once more.
