Kargath Bladefist was the chieftain of the Shattered Hand clan. A razor-sharp scythe setting in place of his severed left hand, Kargath was always willing to engage in frenzied combat. His ruthless tactics and single-mindedness have earned him the Chieftainship of the feared Shattered Hand clan. Like Hellscream, Kargath waited only for the time his clan cold be unleashed upon the unsuspecting humans to engage in massive bloodshed.

History

The Shattered Hand had stayed in Draenor when the orcs first crossed the Dark Portal and were spared the defeat that ended the Second War. Under Kargath, the Shattered Hand and the Thunderlord clan lent their forces to Dentarg to reclaim the Skull of Gul'dan from a captain of the Bonechewer clan.<ref>The Skull of Gul'dan (WC2 Orc)</ref> Kargath later led a force of Shattered Hand orcs into Azeroth.<ref>Beyond the Dark Portal (WC2 Human)</ref> Kargath's Shattered Hand army defended the Azerothian side of the Dark Portal during the last days of the Invasion of Draenor, and they were left stranded with their chieftain after Ner'zhul abandoned them and the Portal was destroyed by the Alliance.<ref>The Dark Portal (WC2 Orc)</ref>

The Shattered Hand's status during the interim period between the destruction of the Dark Portal and the fall of the internment camps is unknown; of Kargath's contemporaries, Kilrogg of the Bleeding Hollow was captured along with his clan, while Grom Hellscream of the Warsong clan continued to evade the Alliance.<ref>Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Game Manual, Orcish History, Day of the Dragon</ref> Supported by many of the veteran chieftains, Thrall ultimately succeeded in revitalizing the Horde and giving his people a new spiritual identity.<ref name="ThrallsTale">Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos Game Manual, Orcish History, Thrall's Tale</ref>

The Shattered Hand still exists, making their home in the Cleft of Shadow, located in the orcish capital of Orgrimmar.

Trivia

The outpost of Kargath in the Badlands was named in his honor. In addition, the shore south of Orgrimmar has been dubbed Bladefist Bay, and the headquarters of the Warsong Logging Camp in Ashenvale is known as Kargathia Keep.
